At Taylor’s we offer our customers MOTs at short notice and a while you wait option using our comfortable reception area.
As a valued customer, we will then send you an annual MOT reminder via our automated system, notifying you when your next MOT is due – which is one less thing you have to remember.
MOT procedures and checks are set down by the VOSA and the process should be carried out by all MOT stations. The primary point of the check is the safety of the vehicle, which includes lighting, suspension, tyres, visibility and cabin safety. The spare tyre, reverse lights and rear wiper blades are not legal requirements of the test, but would you like to be driving without a reliable spare tyre?
It is a legal requirement to keep your car in a roadworthy condition. An MOT test checks that the vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards. If your car is more than 3 years old, you’re required to carry out an MOT each year. Without a valid MOT, your car insurance and road tax is invalidated.
MOT tests can be carried out up to one month prior to the expiry date of an existing MOT certificate. In this case, the start date for your new MOT will be from expiry date of the current MOT rather than the date which the test has been carried out.
